K20 Architecture does not support tree planting as a means of offsetting emissions for the reasons outlined in the TEC report. We support companies that provide renewable energy credits which deal with the root cause of global warming. The TEC report goes on to encourage businesses like ours to support renewable energy offsets as opposed to tree-planting. Our credits supplied by Climate Friendly (Greenpower & The Gold Standard) are recognised as the highest global standards. Climate Friendly's calculations are in line with the best available science and are performed in-house under the guidance of their director and former CSIRO scientist Joel Fleming and have been recognised as best practice by groups such as WWF, Greenpeace, ACF and business including Westpac. WWF are one of the worlds leading environment groups operating in over 100 countries and they have chosen Climate Friendly service as their official global partner - this may demonstrate their integrity.
